Creating optimal living situations
Woondienst Regio Tielt is an Inter-Municipal Cooperation between Ardooie, Dentergem, Pittem, Tielt and Wingene. Our goal? To work on a concrete improvement of the housing situation of all residents. From sensitizing to informing and guiding to referring … we always put quality and dignified living in the first place.
With a counter in each participating city/municipality, we are committed to providing accessible services for every (future) resident and homeowner in the region. In doing so, we always work ‘tailor-made’ and with special attention to vulnerable groups on the housing market. In short, we are an active partner in local housing policy!
The birth of Woondienst Regio Tielt
The Flemish Housing Code assigns municipalities a central role in formulating local housing policy. A municipality on its own often has insufficient clout to realize this. That is why in 2008 it became possible to cooperate between municipalities to develop a fully-fledged housing policy and housing service. This with the support of the Flemish government and the province of West Flanders.
The launch of our IGS happened in 2009. After several successful project periods, it is now time for a new grant period (2026-2031). At the start of that new period, our new name was also launched: IGS Woondienst Regio Tielt.
